Planning My Family Vacation??

I know! I know! How dare I blog about planning my next vacation when I've yet to update you all on my last vacation. No worries! The blog post is coming. I still have a video to edit and pics to upload so please stay tuned! In the meantime (thanks to my EXTREME nesting) I am thinking long and hard about my next family trip. I've always wanted to give my kids the gift of travel. I want them to experience different parts of the country and hopefully outside of the country whether through me personally or through whatever group or extracurricular activity they're involved in. As mentioned in my last blog entry I took 2 out of my 3 kids to Los Angeles, CA. While a difficult trip for me for many reasons they still really enjoyed themselves. I am now hoping to be able to bring all 4.... Wait 4? How did we jump from 3 to 4? Well.... I am currently expecting (hence the nesting reference) and baby will be approximately 10 months come the targeted vacation time. He'll sti

Good Deal!

I received an email a couple of days ago regarding some really good flight deals from Frontier Airlines. They are offering $20 one way flight tickets to and from select destinations. Talk about a steal! I couldn't find any from my city for $20, but I did find tickets starting at $34 which is still great. If you don't mind bare bones transportation then this is something you will want to jump on immediately! https://www.flyfrontier.com/ways-to-save/online-deals

New Plans!

When things throw me off and get me down my innate reaction is to want to get away. It's no different this go round. I hate to say that I've suffered a breakup because it implies that I was in a meaningful relationship. I'm sure I'm wrong about my definition. I can say that I was unpleasantly surprised by something that I didn't expect. (Yeah, we'll go with that). It's just that I fall for a select few really hard and of course while I may not show it (I'm good at that) I do hurt. That's a fact. I try my hardest to immerse myself in things that would get my mind off it. Those things are often work related. I'm choosing to up and leave. Of course not for good. I am planning my 2nd solo trip to Los Angeles yet again. The job of planning will keep me pretty occupied and not focused on what happened recently. I am actually pretty excited. I will once again tailor my trip around an event. Hopefully if Krush Groove has another nice lineup then I&

Making Travel Work For The Kids And I

I'm sure you all have heard time and time again, "If you really want to travel then you'll find a way to do so." Or at least something along those lines. Ehh.... I mean it sounds good in theory, but sometimes it's just not realistic to do the things suggested in order to be able to travel. So we either take whatever we can get or just not travel at all. But I think I may have found a way to see that my kids and I are able to see a different part of the country at least once a year.... My children are a part of a local competitive dance team. With those competitions comes the opportunity to travel. This year they're competing in Orlando, FL. Their dance team will include 2 extra days to allow for the kids to experience Orlando as well by doing things such as going to the beach and possibly Disneyland. And with the price at approximately $350 which covers transportation and hotel... It's basically a steal. Not to mention I've signed up as a volunte

About My Very First Solo Trip (Pt. 2)

My alarm went off at 5:30am. I'm not much of a morning person so of course I hit the snooze button until 6:30am. My kids, like me, had a hard time waking up as well. My brother called me and told me to make sure I had the kids ready. So I rushed to get myself together. My brother came knocking at 7:00am and I eagerly (but lovingly) pushed them out of the door. In my excitement I forgot to make myself breakfast and immediately requested my Lyft ride. After seeing that my ride was about 5 minutes away I realized that I hadn't made myself breakfast, but decided I'd just pick something up at the airport from McDonald's. Besides, I had about an hour and a half before boarding. And getting through TSA should be a breeze, right? At least it usually is whenever I catch a flight out of CVG. I got to the airport with about an hour to spare. Hmmm.... No self service kiosks? Oh gawd! *First world problems* I walked up to the counter to get a ticket. The person sai

About My Very First Solo Trip (Pt. 1)

So let's talk about the beginning stages..... 2016 was a very hard year for me. From moving to a new place, city, school district. Going through a custody battle that was initiated as a means of punishment for requesting child support ( more about that here ). Difficulties with both my mother and father. The end of my confusing 4 year relationship. Deaths of family members... I was really determined to make 2017 MUCH better than 2016. And after the custody battle was over I felt that I deserved to treat myself. Now before I go any further, Bone Thugs N Harmony are my favorite group! Why not make 2017 great by making it a point to see my favorite group LIVE! I searched their tour dates to see if they'd be performing close to home. Unfortunately not. I did see, however, that they would be headlining a concert in California with a dope line up. Now that my destination and activities were settled upon I had to figure out what to do about my kids. Who's
